On a cold winter’s night when you’re craving some warm, rich, dessert – The Choc Pot is the perfect place to go! I couldn’t really decide what my favourite was between the salted caramel chocolate souffle and the molten chocolate fondant! Check it out for yourself!

The sacrifices I make for good food! This place isn’t open on Sundays so I skipped my Saturday exercise routine to make it (feeling super guilty). But it was definitely worth it!

The Food Zoo experience: A lot of the sandwiches are pre-made but still taste quite fresh. Absolutely LOVED the cronuts though. Fueling my total obsession with nutella I just cold not resist the cookies and cream cronut with nutella syringe. The cronuts are custard filled which make it taste less rich and oily which means… You can eat more!

After so many failed attempts at organising dinner here, we finally managed to secure a booking for a chilled out Friday night. When booking, reservations for more than 10 require a deposit, there are two sessions for either 6 or 8PM. These restrictions are quite disappointing as the restaurant seemed hardly busy! On a brighter note, the service was lovely and the set up is really cute though with either booth seating, table seating or shared tables.

The Food Zoo: I have to say, the experience was quite mixed at House of Crabs. Perhaps a bit over-hyped by my friends? I was genuinely disappointed with the lobster fries… I was thinking there would actually be lobster pieces in the fries but it was only lobster gravy… And then I couldn’t taste any lobster at all. Nevertheless my friends will know that I do really enjoy any form of fries! The dessert was unique and to be honest, my favourite dish was the fried chicken *gasp*shock*horror* I loved the idea of getting your hands dirty but honestly, the effort to reward ratio of eating crab is just way to high for my liking!

What a busy weekend! Trekking all over Sydney on a Saturday afternoon and finding myself stuck in Burwood traffic which was quite a bummer. Although I finally got to try this place after stumbling upon it on Philsosophy‘s blog (in addition to some awesome Pho at Mint – look out for this post over the next few days!) So at least all the running around all paid off!

The Food Zoo experience: These drinks are so adorable! The “soil” is made of crushed Oreos and separated from the tea with a layer of frothy foam. Unfortunately, all the drinks were only lukewarm when they arrived and the biscuits added a weird salty taste to the drink which wasn’t too pleasant. However, the actual flavours were nice and strong so I think you wouldn’t probably be better off getting other drink items which are less fancy! There are also other snack items on the menu which I thought I should mention although we were really just too full from dinner!
Finally, a quick note about the efficiency of the staff. I think only in Asian restaurants would they ask patrons to change seats after already being seated. But at least it helped us get a table of four seated in 15 minutes instead of 50! I was impressed!
