The Choc Pot, Burwood

On a cold winter’s night when you’re craving some warm, rich, dessert – The Choc Pot is the perfect place to go! I couldn’t really decide what my favourite was between the salted caramel chocolate souffle and the molten chocolate fondant! Check it out for yourself!

The Food Zoo experience: So. Much. Chocolate. Chocolate this, chocolate that. You just can’t really go wrong in this place. Unless it’s too much chocolate. In which case, match desserts with the recommended herbal teas! I’m loving this place!

The Grumpy Barista, Petersham

The sacrifices I make for good food! This place isn’t open on Sundays so I skipped my Saturday exercise routine to make it (feeling super guilty). But it was definitely worth it!

 Cronut – Rose petal ($10.00)

The Food Zoo experience: A lot of the sandwiches are pre-made but still taste quite fresh. Absolutely LOVED the cronuts though. Fueling my total obsession with nutella I just cold not resist the cookies and cream cronut with nutella syringe. The cronuts are custard filled which make it taste less rich and oily which means… You can eat more!

Piccolo Me (Nutellagato), Sydney

Yes, yes this is a special post for my lunch trek to Piccolo Me at Castlereagh St! It’s just off the main road at the top of Martin Place but you can’t miss the bright yellow logo outside! After my constant badgering on Instagram, Roy kindly invited me to sample the Nutellagato (affogato variation with Nutella ice-cream).

The Ricky Ricardo – Salami, tomato, cucumber & provolone dolce ($8.00)

The Food Zoo experience: The lunch wraps/salad options are on the lighter side so you know you’re not going back to the office for a food coma. It also means more room for the nutella bomb or *drumroll please*…. The Nutellagato! A double ristretto shot + Nutella ice-cream. I love all things nutella so needless to say I will be going back for more! For those who are wanting to try it out, the Nutellagato is available starting August 11th at all stores =)

Mint, Burwood

As promised, the post which was meant to precede TeaPlus Burwood (as you can tell, I clearly get overexcited by dessert and jumped the gun on that post).

Mint03

Mint’s special lemonade

Mint04

 Thick vermicelli lemongrass soup ($11.50)

Mint05

Mint’s signature beef noodle soup with Australian wagyu cutes ($17.00)

Mint06

Chicken salad congee ($13.00)

Mint07

Lemongrass pork with rice ($12.00 extra for tomato rice)

The Food Zoo experience: Situated on the main road amongst a whole strip of other restaurants, you know it’s good when people area already waiting outside for an early dinner. Turnover is quite quick so the wait is never too long. I was surprised by the lemongrass pork which was served more as a stir-fry instead of grilled pork chop style but was tasty nevertheless. Portions were generous and the menu is maaaaaaaaassive (although who am I kidding, I always order pho). Highly recommending this place and I am officially labeling it as my go-to restaurant in Burwood!
